With well documented Current Affair Programs portraying women being asked to leave restaurants for breastfeeding children, as well as being asked to leave shops because they were not welcome with prams or pushers; the initiative of “Family Friendly” was developed.
The Family Friendly objective is to take away doubt and uncertainty for families with nationally uniform window signage & website exposure symbolising; ‘this is a welcoming, appropriate, safe and enjoyable venue for you & your family’.
Research commissioned in 2005 by Family Matters and Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports - Singapore indicates that Family Friendly businesses enjoy 5% - 10% more sales than less family-friendly ones. Food & Beverage businesses that are Family Friendly enjoy 15% more sales.
We are seeking enthusiastic people throughout greater Melbourne to approach a diverse range of businesses that endorse the idea of identifying themselves as being “Family Friendly”.
